VIN Decoding for 1967 Mustangs



 
 

Step 1:  Determine year based on last digit of the model year.  VIN's ending in "0" are 1970.

Step 2:  Determine the assembly plant where your Mustang was produced.
             F = Dearborn, Michigan
             R = San Jose, California
             T = Metuchen, New Jersey

Step 3:  Determine the body style.
             01 = Hardtop (Coupe)
             02 = Fastback
             03 = Convertible

Step 4:  Determine the type of engine.
             A = V8 289 CID 4V
             C = V8 289 CID 2V
             K = V8 289 CID 4V High Performance
             S = V8 390 CID 4V Big Block
             T = I6 200 CID 1V 
            
Step 5:  Determine the consecutive unit number of your Mustang.  (More information on production numbers...)
